The Florida Department of Transporation (“FDOT”) has released 100% right-of-way maps for the I-4/State Road 400 project in Orange County, which includes the City of Orlando. The FDOT’s maps indicate that multiple owners of private property will be affected by this project and that the project will begin at Gore Street and end at Church Street in Orlando.

The Florida Department of Transportation Releases New Information Regarding the Construction of the Baldwin Bypass in Duval County

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) recently released preliminary design aerials depicting the preferred alignment for the Baldwin Bypass in Duval County and the City of Jacksonville.  To develop the Baldwin Bypass, the FDOT will have to acquire property from from 26 parcels of private property in Jacksonville, and the FDOT has allocated over 4 million dollars in funds for these acquisitions.

The Florida Department of Transportation Releases New Construction Plans for I-10/State Road 8 Stormwater Retention Ponds in Duval County

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) recently released new construction plans for the development of stormwater retention ponds and the widening of an access road for I-10/State Road 8 in Duval County and the City of Jacksonviille.  The FDOT’s new construction plans depict various proposed pond site locations including the recommended sites for these stormwater retention ponds.

To develop its project, the FDOT anticipates having to acquire property from 14 Duval  parcels of private property in Jacksonville.  To do so, the FDOT has allotted 4.3 million dollars in fiscal year 2013 (which begins in the summer of 2012).

The Florida Department of Transportation Holds Public Meeting for Highway 390 Road Widening in Bay County

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) recently held a public meeting for the Highway 390 road widening project in Bay County, which includes Panama City, Florida. At the public meeting, the FDOT revealed aerials of the segment of Highway 390 that runs from 23rd Street to Baldwin Road.  These aerials indicate that the Highway 390 road widening project will require the FDOT to acquire an extensive amount of Bay County private property.

Appraisers for the Florida Department of Transportation to Begin Analyzing Private Property for the State Road 79 Road Widening Project

Appraisers for the Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) have started contacting property owners along the segment of State Road 79 that runs from North of Reedy Branch Bridge to Court Street in Washington County.  The purpose of the FDOT’s contact with these property owners is to schedule property inspections to appraise property FDOT intends to acquire.

In the near future, appraisers will complete their appraisals and submit them to FDOT. After these appraisals are completed, the FDOT is expected to begin making offers for the acquisition of private property, and if needed, the FDOT will ultimately initiate eminent domain lawsuits to acquire the needed property.

The Florida Department of Transporation Selects Preferred Alignment for the Development of Westbay Parkway in Bay County

The Florida Department of Transportation Allocates Funds for Stormwater Retention Ponds for State Road 55 in Citrus County

The Florida Department of Transportation is planning to build several stormwater retention ponds for State Road 55 in Citrus County, Florida, which includes the cities of Crystal River and Inverness.  To build these ponds, the FDOT will have to acquire property from multiple Citrus County private property owners.  FDOT has allocated over $7 million dollars to acquire this private property and acquisitions of these parcels are expected to occur as soon as this year, 2012.

The Florida Department of Transportation Moves Forward with the Development of a New Section of County Road 578 from Suncoast Parkway to U.S. 41 in Hernando County

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is moving forward with its plan to build a new section of County Road 578 connecting Suncoast Parkway to U.S. 41 in Hernando County, Florida, which is part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg metropolitan area. The FDOT has set aside funding to acquire the needed right of way for this project.  The FDOT’s acquisition of this private property will begin to occur later this year.
